Winter Recommendations

With everyone in the mood to cozy up with some hot chocolate and a blanket, I thought that it was more than appropriate to share with you twelve winter recommendations.  Although most of them aren’t holiday themed, these are the perfect sorts of books to read by the fire, wrapped up in a sweater.  Enjoy the cold!

What better way to enjoy the chilly weather than to peruse the sweet college tellings of resident Fangirl Cath?  I can’t remember what time of year I first read this book, but I can assure you that the vibe is perfect for the season | Goodreads

This historical fiction gem is set during the winter, and it’s chilly descriptions will surely reflect the snow outside.  And while yes, the subject matter is rather gloomy, what better to reflect he grays of winter? | Goodreads

Although I’m a fan of the regular book, I think that the graphic novel is particularly fitting for the holiday season.  I’m not sure why, but this was one of the first books that came to mind when I started planning out this list.  I think it was probably the endearing

Certainly the most important book recommendation on this list, I hope that everyone picks up the Luxe and series this wintery season because the characters and their stories are absolutely heartwarming.  I love all of the wonderful development that they each go through, and I think you’ll love it too | Goodreads

Some people may perhaps think that this book is better fit for the spookier time of year, but I disagree.  The rolling hills and mysterious boarding school-set story is perfect for

This fantasy novel is absolutely whimsical.  Although the story focuses on the shadows, all of the descriptions will make you think of winter fairies!  With a touch of romance, The Pentrals is a perfect winter read | Goodreads

I just reviewed this perfect example of #realya.  As all our lovely college student are returning home for break, pick this up if you’re in the mood to relive some high school

This list wouldn’t be complete, of course, without a mention of this holiday anthology.  The overall perfect balance of humor and warmth, be sure to put this on your holiday radar.  Out of all of the stories, Holly Black’s “Krampuslauf” and Laini Taylor’s “The Girl Who Woke the Dreamer”, were my favorites | Goodreads | Review

Probably the perfect binge series for the winter season, not only does are favorite wizard celebrate Christmas in every book, but the magical story compliments the chilly holiday cheer | Goodreads

This historical mystery could not be more fitting for the ‘snow season’.  Similar to Dangerous Girls you never can quite tell what is going on until the end.  Be prepared to curl your toes under warm winter blankets | Goodreads

More than just an adorable romance, Anna and the French Kiss will have you completely worked up over the characters.  Certainly the perfect distraction for those needing a break from pushy relatives | Goodreads

Utterly spellbinding, this description rich novel is beyond fitting for snowy times.  Talks of special scarves and such illustrate a wonderful winter setting | Goodreads | Review

    Great post! I love Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (I just finished Library of Souls a couple of weeks ago), but I haven’t read the graphic novel. I bet it’s even more magical than the original!

      Thanks Annie! I’m guilty of saying I’ve not yet read Library of Souls, or even the second novel in the series! I’m terrible, I know. Well, terrible at reading series! 😉 Thanks for stopping by.
