Waiting On Wednesday | The Rest of Us Just Live Here

waiting on wednesday

“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine where bloggers can showcase books that we are eagerly waiting for.

This week I’m waiting for The Rest of Us Just Live Here by Patrick Ness.

Publication:

October 6th, 2015 by Harper Teen

the rest of us just live here

What if you aren’t the Chosen One?

The one who’s supposed to fight the zombies, or the soul-eating ghosts, or whatever the heck this new thing is, with the blue lights and the death?

What if you’re like Mikey? Who just wants to graduate and go to prom and maybe finally work up the courage to ask Henna out before someone goes and blows up the high school. Again.

Because sometimes there are problems bigger than this week’s end of the world, and sometimes you just have to find the extraordinary in your ordinary life.

Even if your best friend is worshiped by mountain lions.

Why I’m Waiting:

Although I am this is not exactly the most descriptive blurb ever, I can’t help but be overwhelmingly curious about this newest novel by Patrick Ness.  It alludes to a larger problem that outshines the typical difficulties of high school students and there are endless possibilities of what that could be.

Oh, and look how awesome the cover is, and it will glow in the dark! How cool is that?

A glow in the dark cover? That’s amazing! But really, the blurb is vague enough to make me curious. Several friends of mine swear by Patrick Ness, so maybe I’ll give this one a try.
