Well hello there! Long time no see. From the title of this post you have probably reached the same conclusion as I have… For many reasons (and I mean many reasons) I haven’t posted on this blog since September! Before this point, I haven’t had a lull so long since…2013 I would say. This was a very unexpected hiatus, not one that I intentionally planned but I should note that it was one that I intentionally kept until I felt as though I could return with fresh ideas and an unburdened mind. Never fear, I have returned! 😀
This fall has been a mix of craziness, excitement, some tears, and of course some laughter. I expected a necessary transition period at the beginning of this school year as I began my junior year of high school. But what I did not expect? (#1) A concussion that had me out of school for several days and caused me to be wildly behind on school work. So while homework occasionally gets in the way of blogging, makeup work and concussion recovery put my life on hiatus for a bit. I was recovered by October when (#2) the fall production I was serving in premiered, which was lovely. The rest of October was taken up by (#3) Cross country, which I adore and love and already miss dearly but also by (#4) my BIRTHDAY (I’m seventeen now)!! As for November, I would say this month has been all about (#5) T1 exams (#6) presidential election and (#7) Mary being sick. It’s been a crazy fall.
“So Mary…” you ask, “What’s next?” Well, there’s a lot of things that I’m excited about right now. First of all, its almost Thanksgiving which is SO EXCITING because I have family coming in town and lots of time to read, watch movies (like Elf and Chronicles of Narnia), go ice skating, and go shopping (!!) I’ve also been reading a bit in the past couple weeks which is lovely and I can’t wait to post reviews and share holiday lists and books that I’m excited about. The chilly weather just always gets me in the mood for reading, as does holiday travel! I’ve also been running a tween book club since last year, and it’s about time I post about some of the MG books we’ve been diving into. All in all, I’m so glad to be back and so glad to be producing new content.
